We've rode almost all of the trails at IR and PC, but don't have much experience with the Outlaw trails. Before I head out into the unknown this spring and get lost and wake up with a bear trying to spoon, can anyone give me some pointers on how to get to the major "attractions" located on the Outlaw trails? I've been from IR trail 93 down to the StairSteps, as well as down to the Wagon Wheel to eat. We also hit a trail across the road near the bottom of the steps - it was a fairly level trail with a ton of mudholes...if you keep going past Wagon Wheel road and cross the creek at the sharp curve to the left, it t's into the trail, which I believe goes out to McComas (we turned around a few miles out). I'm hoping to learn the way to the View (is this the same as Top of the World?), Indian Ridge to Pinnacle Creek, the Trestle, etc. If anyone can give some pointers I'd be much obliged!  thank_you

Hey boosted!
I have some GPS tracks, but they are not mine.
Someone or someones gave them to me to make a map, which has become a lot more difficult that I thought.
I do have a list of GPS waypoints that I can post for you.  I will try to find them now.
Are you guys using a GPS?
I wish I could give you more directions, but I have only ridden those trials once, and do not know how to describe them.

can anyone give me some pointers on how to get to the major "attractions" located on the Outlaw trails?

I think your best bet is to ride with someone who knows their way around. That's how I've been learning. I make a point of trying to learn at least one new trail each time I go. It's difficult to give directions based on landmarks because the area is constantly changing due to logging and mining activities.

Astainback - thanks for the GPS info! Unfortunately, none of us have a GPS, yet. I've been planning to get one eventually though, and those coordinates will definitely come in handy! Plus I can punch them in on google maps now to get a general idea of where they are located.

Explorer - thanks, that's sort of what I was afraid of, with all of the logging etc that goes on up there. I'll try to get some of the guys I know that ride that area often to head up with us one day.

Funny you should mention the Beer Tree.  You are referring to the one by Tiny's Corner aren't you?
